Paul Marko's Mindful Endeavors

Paul Marko

Welcome

Hello and welcome to my website.

I am an executive coach with 30 plus years experience in business and 10 plus years working in leadership coaching. I have worked in both the public and private sectors see my bio. Every year, I work with a few important clients to help bring their leadership capabilities in line with their vision for the future.

In my experience, coaching falls into three main categories: ongoing developmental coaching, conversion coaching, (converting individual experts into leaders), and remedial coaching. All three of these types of interventions are necessary in any sizable organization to keep pace with the competition and take your company to the next level. Active and healthy programs dedicated to developmental coaching and conversion coaching can eliminate much of the need for remedial work.

Developmental coaching is individually focused and organizationally driven to enrich the human capitol and leadership acumen of the organization. Symptoms of the need for developmental coaching are lack of bench strength, leaders with no knowledge of their weaknesses or individuals overusing strengths at the expense of developing a well rounded game. Results of the lack of developmental coaching might be: high recruitment fees, failed promotions, or mediocre leadership in critical positions.

Conversion coaching differs from management or supervisory training because it meets the client (coachee) where they currently are and diagnoses shortcomings that will predictably arise when they cross the threshold into leadership. Antidotal evidence suggests that promotion without development is the most expensive kind of education for the new leader and the organization.

Remedial coaching is a critical component of leadership sustainment. Because, in life, change is the only constant, realignment of perspective, focus and intention of each executive is an ongoing process. This ongoing internal process demands a certain amount of each leader's attention on an ongoing basis in order for him or her to stay focused on and interested in the most important objectives of the organization. Unfortunately, there are times when this re-orientation requires the help of an outside entity, one with no political agenda or preconceived biases. Candid, value based sessions and hard work can renew and restore trusted, experienced leadership to a position where he or she can again be a top contributor.

My role always is as a supplier of openness and candor, giving the objective feedback that is needed to develop high potentials, convert individual performers into leaders and serve as a servo-mechanism for leaders to reconnect with their organizations. In all instances, coaching helps leaders gain self-understanding and notice the effects of their words and actions. It provides a structured approach for businesses to enrich their relationships with arguably their most valued players while increasing their effectiveness and alignment to the strategic vision of the organization.

After you have had time to peruse this Web site, please feel free to call me so that we can chat about your organization and its objectives. If after our conversation you feel comfortable that I can be of help to you, we can begin to work on creating a mutually beneficial relationship.
