Typical Coaching Structure
Mindful Coaching operates under the premise that all true wisdom is self-contained. Development is a process of becoming aware of and accessing that wisdom. Becoming a better leader or manager under this type of development amounts to becoming a better (wiser more mindful) person. Knowing yourself and your automatic behaviors, traits and patterns makes possible your ability to choose your current actions (in the moment) and therefore mindfully create your future and your legacy.

To begin this journey of self-exploration and discovery, the client becomes involved in a series of insight expanding interventions intended to enlarge their vision of how they are perceived by others, discover their logic/action orientation and uncover their instinctual traits and behavioral patterns that dominate their approach to life. It is through these "lenses of discovery" that self-analysis can be facilitated.
Following a firm foundation in tools and processes for self-understanding, the real work of mindful observation and choice-ful leadership can begin. Ongoing after action reviews shape the developmental component along with an individual development plan for growth. This combination ensures that maximum development can be achieved in the shortest amount of time.
Developmental Interventions
Self Discovery
- An in-depth interview is conducted with the purpose of the coach obtaining extensive knowledge of the clients background, experiences, leadership style, self-perceptions and goals (aspirations). A secondary purpose is to develop a supportive rapport with the client.
- Three psychological instruments will be administered to the client in order to create an understanding of leadership logic level, personality type and occupational style.
Feedback
- A half-day feedback session will be undertaken with the client to brief him or her on the results of the interview and psychological instruments. It is from this vantage point that the client will be encouraged to begin their own discovery.
Individual Development Planning
- A one day intervention will be held to gather feedback from subordinates and perhaps peers to give the client a basis for undertaking an individual development plan. The superior can also be involved in this intervention.
Ongoing Developmental Coaching
- This action is the heart and soul of development. Discovering how others view you and be able to better understand why and how you operate is only the beginning; watching yourself in action and discussing your choices with your coach is the real key to development. Knowing that you have a partner in your development and being able to see your progress is a basic necessity for prolonged growth and vision expansion.
Fees
The basic fee for the beginning discovery activities is $6,000 payable in thirds. One third will be payable after the Self-discovery phase, one third after the Feedback phase and the final third after the Individual Development Planning phase.A fee for the ongoing coaching interventions is $300 per session.
This does not include the coaches travel expenses or materials.
