Biographical Sketch

Paul W. Marko, Ph.D. brings a depth of understanding of human nature to his vision for the future and his understanding of the general purpose of all life. He sees existence as an opportunity to expand the individual and collective consciousness through techniques designed for learning and through fostering direct knowing. He is dedicated to spreading information about and expanding what is known regarding how and why some individuals expand to the higher ranges of consciousness while others limit themselves to the more mundane realms of understanding.

With an academic background that combines the creative arts, education, administration/management and psychology, Dr. Marko allows himself to go beyond traditional ideas of what is possible for human beings and their social structures. He envisions a new role for business, government, social, and cultural institutions - all designed to foster the evolution of the human consciousness. His research explores the heart of the self-actualization process in a drive to understand what can be done to accelerate development and what factors limit growth.

Dr. Marko's doctoral studies at Saybrook Graduate School in San Francisco focused upon understanding human growth and specifically on ego development as defined by Jane Loevinger and Suzanne Cook-Greuter's model. He currently conducts and publishes studies that explore specifically how and why human development takes place. He is interested in expanding the knowledge of what growth looks like and how individuals differ in their paths toward expansion.

In his organizational development efforts, Dr. Marko has worked with major private corporations and governmental agencies throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. These organizations included but were not limited to: Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Allied Signal, Georgia Pacific/Flakeboard, Canadian Air Command, Owens Illinois, Lucent Technologies, United Technologies, Harley Davidson, Ford Motor Company, Coors Brewing Company, General Electric, Department of Defense, US Air Force and the Army Corps of Engineers.

Dr. Marko is a fascinating and humorous lecturer and workshop leader who combines knowledge of the arts, big business, government and consciousness studies in down-to-earth and street-smart presentations designed to engender curiosity and motivate productive action. He has the ability to relate complicated and arcane topics in an easily understandable manner and combines remarkable insight with alluring anecdotal tales. In both his presentations and his writings, he works to try to bring the wisdom of the ages to his 21st century audience in a way which fosters learning and growth.
